Palestian's health ministry says a 13-year-old boy taking part in protests against Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank was shot and killed.
According to the health ministry, Ayman Nasr Abou Aliya "succumbed to his wounds after he was shot with live rounds in the stomach" during demonstrations in north Ramallah.
An Israeli military spokeswoman said the intention was not to kill but instead to disperse the crowd which was throwing rocks at the soldiers with "riot dispersal means."
Palestine's foreign affairs ministry described the killing as "a war crime and a crime against humanity."
Four other people were wounded in the weekly occurring protests against Israeli occupation of the historically Palestinian land.
