19 Iranian military sailors ‘accidentally’ killed

Iran says military drills at the Gulf of Oman turned deadly after one of their naval ships accidentally shot a support vessel during the exercises.

The vessel‘s role during the drills was to place targets for fighter ships to shoot at.

Iran said, in a statement, the ship was accidentally hit after veering to close to a target it placed.

19 people onboard the ship were killed and 15 others were injured.

The incident took place yesterday but was only made public today.
