Earlier this morning, several locations across Canada have been celebrating it’s 152nd anniversary.
Approximately 16,000 people were gathered near Parliament Hill around 1:15 pm., including Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds.
Other guests included The Strumbellas, Alan Doyle, and Coeur de Pirate who are headlining the entertainment.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was also one of the main speakers on Parliament Hill. During his speech at the noon show which took place in Ottawa today, he said "We can and must continue to make our country even better."He then continued to express "We can't forget that Canada did not happen by accident, and it won't continue without effort and hard work."
Before heading on stage, Trudeau discussed during an interview that the anxiety caused by personal and global factors "are real." He then spoke more of the struggle people go through to make ends meet, and the worries about each others’ futures, especially climate change.
"My responsibility as a politician, as a leader is to help allay those fears and put forward solutions. Others might choose to amplify them, but I think what we need to do is really be putting forward concrete solutions. That's what we've been working on for four years, and hopefully we can continue."
As celebrations continue to take place in Ottawa, once the sun begins to set, it will begin with it’s fireworks display.
