Canadian gas line company in Kentucky explodes leaving one person dead

Early this morning a woman was killed after a gas line plant owned by the Canadian company Enbridge Inc, exploded.

Local authorities say a 58-year-old woman, by the name Lisa Denis Derringer, was killed as a result of the explosion. Her body was found outside her home. Five people were left with none life-threatening injuries.

The incident happened in Lincoln County. Six homes were engulfed in flames--five of which were destroyed. Police evacuated 75 people from the area.

Eyewitnesses say the flames from the explosion rose up 100 meters in the air. This is the second explosion Enbridge has experienced in less than a year. The first explosion was in January, in Noble County Ohio. No one died in the incident, but two people were left with serious injuries.

Authorities still don't know what caused today's explosion. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
