After welcoming the birth of Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex’s Meghan’s newborn son, the CN Tower will be lit in purple this evening.
The royal baby was born at 05:35 am BST, and to celebrate, Toronto’s very own skyline will make their mark again by lighting it up.
The CN Tower was lit blue in 2013, to commemorate the birth of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge’s Kate’s son, Prince George. It was also lit purple for the Queen’s 90th birthday.
The Duke of Sussex ecstatically announced the news earlier this morning, and thanked the public for their support. The Buckingham Palace said the baby weighed about 7 pounds, and the duke was present for the birth.
The healthy baby boy has yet to be named, and is the first child of this royal family’s couple. He will be seventh in line to the throne, and is Queen Elizabeth II’s eighth great grandchild.
Prince Harry plans to make another announcement in two day’s time, so “everyone can see the newborn child”.
