The U.K is on the brink of economic uncertainty as they try to hammer out a Brexit deal in the nine days they have left before fully cutting off all legally binding ties with the European Union.
EU chief Brexit negotiator described the crucial days ahead as a "final push" to pull out a trade agreement out of the mostly unfruitful talks.
“We are really in a crucial moment and we are giving it a final push,” said Barnier before he briefed EU member states on the state of negotiations on Tuesday.
Nine months of talks, four years since Britain voted to leave the bloc, and its economic future is hanging on the thread of what happens in the next nine days of negotiations.
The major sticking point on the table is the U.K's fishing rights. EU member states are demanding its British ally leave its waters open for continental fishing, a demand the U.K continues to refuse, arguing that doing so will hurt British fish farmers.
The EU is currently asking for a cut of up to 25 percent in fishing quotes, but the U.K is pushing its historic trading partner to lower their demands even more despite already doing so. By: Niza Nondo
