The draft shows the scheduled Nov 30 lockdown end period will be extended to Dec. 20.

Bars and restaurants will continue to remain closed under the plan, while schools and essential businesses will remain open. Private gatherings will now be limited to five people, a 50% cut from the first plan.

A ban on alcohol and fireworks will also be introduced in preparation for New Year celebrations.

Germany introduced its second lockdown on Nov.2, but cases continue to skyrocket.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel will meet with state leaders on Nov. 25 to discuss whether to go ahead with the planned restrictions.
