Early this morning, ISIS released a video through its news channel, run by extremists in Iraq, formally acknowledging its defeat in the battle for Baghouz.
The Syrian village was the last ISIS stronghold in the country. The fight to liberate the village was led by U.S backed Kurdish 'Syrian Democratic forces.'
In the video ISIS released, Abu Baker al-Baghdadi, made his first appearance in five years. Prior to the video, Al-Baghdadi was last seen encouraging his fighters in Mosul Iraq, to continue their efforts in establishing an Islamic caliphate.
In today's video Al-Baghdadi threatened the West with terrorist attacks similar to the suicide bombs in Sri Lanka that killed 359 worshipers on easter.
Al-Baghdadi's reappearance goes against numerous reports claiming he was killed in a U.S airstrike several years ago. Al-Baghdadi remains the world's most wanted man --with a 25$ million bounty on his head.
