A six-year-old girl and a man in his 20s are injured following a barrage of missile strikes Israeli forces intentionally fired in the Palestinian-controlled Gaza Strip.
The rockets caused power outages in the eastern part of the Israeli blockaded city as well as damaged a children's hospital, a center for disabled people, and residential homes, according to Palestinian media.
Israeli forces have denied the portray of the incident, saying they primarily targeted Hamas, a Palestinian political group Israel regards as terrorists.
Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee said the strikes were retaliatory for rockets Hamas fired on Friday from Gaza into Israeli controlled territory. The projectiles were intercepted by Israel's advanced anti-missile air defence system.
Adraee claims the only sites hit by his forces weaponry were Hamas military posts which included a rocket manufacturing site.
No deaths have been reported in the latest airstrikes.
