Man charged for quadruple stabbing during Raptors’ victory parade


Toronto police say officers have arrested a 29 year old man in connection with 4 stabbings that happened last month during the Raptors’ championship parade.


The officers executed a search warrant in the area of Yonge Street and Major Mackenzie Drive and arrested the man in connection with the stabbing.

The stabbings happened in the Yonge and Dundas Square area where thousands of people were watching the parade on television screens. 4 people were injured including a young boy, two outside an Easton Center store and two on Bay Street near the Eaton Center, they were all taken to the hospital in serious condition.


The police say the stabbings were a result of an altercation between the accused and the group, afterword the accused fled the scene.

The man has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, four counts of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon. He is scheduled to appear in court Friday morning.
