North Korea fires another set of missiles shortly after sending Trump a "lovely letter"

Earlier on Saturday, South Korean time, North Korea fired two sets of missiles off the eastern coast.

It's not yet clear if the missiles were ballistic projectiles. U.S President Donald Trump says the rockets were just regular projectiles.

Today's launch came moments after President Trump received a " lovely letter" from North Korea's leader Kim Jong-Un expressing his displeasure on the U.S and South Korea's military drills on the Korean Peninsula.

According to President Trump, Kim is "not happy" about the military exercises, and sees them as "rehearsal for war." Trump in the past has agreed with Kim Jong-Un on the subject of constantly having joint military drills with South Korea. Trump has previously called the exercises "unnecessary" and "costly"

Both the U.S and North Korea have reached a stalemate on denuclearization talks. The last significant meeting was on June 30th.

South Korea's military says the missiles came from the South Hamgyong Province. They were fired approximately at 5:34 am local time. The missiles landed in the Sea of Japan.

The launch violates 11 U.N resolutions--which North Korea wants removed before it continues with denuclearization talks.
