Environment Minister Jonathan Wilkinson said national parks will reopen June 1.
According to Wilkinson, some trails, day-use areas, green spaces and recreational boating will be available starting June 1 at national parks, historic sites and waterways and national marine conservation areas. But camping will be won’t until at least June 21st.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said it will be different for most Canadians as many of the traditional activities won’t be available to kick off this summer. But he said it wouldn’t last forever, adding the government is planning to open parts of national parks where physical distancing is possible.
