Police are looking for a 26-year-old man accused of strangling a 96-year-old woman

In a media release issued out today, York Regional Police said they issued out an arrest warrant for 26-year-old Ka Lun Wong.

Wong has been accused of choking a 96-year-old woman to a state of unconsciousness, on October 20th.


The woman, whose name hasn’t been made public, is currently in hospital receiving treatment for her injuries. Health officials say she is in non-life-threatening condition.


Police say Wong, a Markham resident, and the woman are known to each other. The extent of their relationship hasn’t yet been made clear.


“He is encouraged to seek legal assistance and turn himself in,” police said in a press release.
