Earlier today an unknown amount of guns were stolen at a police station in the costal city of Guayama. Police believe the theft was carried out by protesters who are calling on Governor Ricardo Rossello to resign.

The cries of resignation come as a result of a federal probe into Rossello's alleged corrupt style of governance and a spiralling economy.

The FBI is now investigating the robbery. A police statement from the robbed facility said the thieves vandalized the place with graffiti and left a note with a death threat directed to the governor. The robbers are calling on the governor to resign or " face bullets."

Mass protesters by the Islands labour unions are scheduled to take place tomorrow.
