Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders narrowly wins the New Hampshire primary, beating his contender by 1.3% of the vote.

With a record 287,000 ballots cast, Sanders managed to sneak in a victory with 25.7% of the vote going his way while runner-up Pete Buttigieg got 24.4%.

“This victory here is the beginning of the end for Donald Trump,” Sanders told supporters in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Sanders's victory also showed signs of growing division within the Democratic Party. Following the 78-year-old's victory, Sanders's supports began booing Buttigieg and chanting “wall street Pete” during his televised post-primary speech.

The chants are the latest set of attacks the former South Bend Indiana mayor has received. Only two days ago, then projected front-runner Vice President Joe Biden, launched an attack ad against Buttigieg-- calling him young, inexperienced, and inadequate to beat Donald Trump.

But New Hampshire voters showed the former V.P he was the one they thought was inadequate to beat President Trump. Biden finished fifth in the primary, only winning 8.4% of the vote. Meanwhile, business entrepreneur, Andrew Yang, announced at the end of the night he was dropping out of the race after receiving only 2.8% of the vote.

“I am the math guy, and it’s clear from the numbers we’re not going to win this campaign,” Yang said.

Yang is mostly known for his universal income policy--promising to give every American 1,000$ a month regardless of their financial standings.

Colorado Senator Michael Bennet also announced his withdrawal after receiving only 0.3% of the vote.

The 11 remaining Democratic candidates will be heading to Nevada for the next caucus vote on February 22nd.
