A man suspected of a domestic assault is found dead in a newly-completed home on Retreat Boulevard.
York Regional Police were called to the area at 1 a.m for a domestic assault against a woman. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
The suspect was found 10 minutes later by firefighters responding to a fire at Retreat Boulevard by Major Mackenzie Drive West and Highway 400.
Firefighters found the suspect deceased, inside the same burning home they were called to. Police say the suspect owned the home. An investigation into the fire is currently ongoing.
