Ten people die in a Covid-19 hospital in Romania

A fire at a hospital in Piatra Neamt county, Romania, has killed ten people receiving treatment for the coronavirus.

The cause of the blaze is still unknown. An investigation into the incident has been launched. The fire broke out in the hospital's intensive care unit and spread to neighboring rooms.


Among the survivors are six Covid-19 patients, and the doctor on call who ended up receiving burns to 40% of his body.


According to the Health Minister Nelu Tataru, All six of the surviving patients will be transported to a Covid-19 center in the eastern Romanian city of Iasi, and the doctor will be transported to a hospital in the capital, Bucharest.
