The U.S government announced it would begin sending out its newly Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine over the weekend.

The first shipment will contain three million doses of the vaccine which will be split amongst all 50 states and are expected to arrive in each state on Monday.

Despite Pfizer being an American-based drug manufacturing company, the U.S is the fourth country to approve the drug--approved on Friday-- right after Canada, Bahrain, and the U.K which became the first country to approve the treatment and administer it.

General Gustave Perna will oversee the distribution of Pfizer's 95% efficacy vaccine which now becomes the world's fastest approved scientifically-backed vaccine, beating mumps--produced in four years-- which held the position since 1967.

"Expect 145 sites across the states to receive the vaccine on Monday, another 425 sites on Tuesday, and the final 66 sites on Wednesday," General Gustave Perna said, adding that the next shipment will contain enough doses to cover three million people.

Pfizer is expected to prioritize the U.S' needs above other countries, according to President Trump.
