7 people are injured after a shooting that happened early Monday Morning.
The incident took place at the District 45 lounge, located near Keele Street on Finch Avenue West.
Toronto police Chief Mark Saunders said, during a news conference, that the incident is very bothersome, but given the number of witnesses, the case seems to be solvable.
Saunders then continued to say that during the Simcoe Day weekend, from Saturday to Monday, about 13 people were left with gunshot wounds. Police were called in 11 times to separate firearm incidents.
He says over thirty-three percent of the incidents happened in the northwest end of Toronto.
Along with the nightclub shooting, two victims were wounded near Church and Adelaide Streets, two were shot near Dufferin Street and Lawrence Avenue West, one victim was left with non-life-threatening injuries near Liberty Village in downtown, and another shooting took place at an Airbnb-rented mansion on Bridle Path.
Police say from the initial five wounded victims, two were females, and three were male. One of the male is in life-threatening condition. A spokesperson for Toronto police then said two more victims from the nightclub showed up in the hospital later that afternoon, revising the number of victims to seven.
Saunders says police are reviewing security camera footage from inside the club to identify the suspect or suspects, and get a better idea of what happened.
