Last night the Toronto Raptors set a new record with their win against the Golden State Warriors. The Raptors beat the Warriors 114-110 securing the NBA Finals title for 2019. This is the first time the Canadian team has won the NBA finals.
People across Canada tuned in to watch game 6. There were game celebrations set up in Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa,Vancover, Winnipeg and of course Jurassic Park in Toronto. Toronto Mayor John Tory was in the front row in Jurassic Park watching on the big screen while the Raptors Global Ambassador Drake was in his usual spot on stage with his entourage.

During the celebrations, people flooded the streets around Jurassic Park climbing on cars and light posts. Drake celebrated by releasing 2 new songs in honour of the new champions. He posted the announcement on his Instagram with the song titles; which will be Omertà and Money In the Grave, featuring Mississippi rapper Rick Ross.
Toronto will be having a parade on Monday to celebrate this historic event. The plans for the Parade have been released, it will start at the Princes' Gates at Exhibition Place at 10:00am and will finish at Nathan Phillips Square around 12:30.
The championship parade will include dignitaries and the players traveling in open air double decker buses. Fans are encouraged to wear their jerseys and other Raptors gear while joining and watching the parade.
