Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has accused Armenia of committing war crimes over the alleged attack of Ganja, Azerbaijan
The region was hit by shelling early this morning while many residents were still in bed. Homes in the area have been leveled, 40 people are injured, and killing 13. Armenia has denied accusations of carrying out the attack but that hasn’t stopped top Azerbaijani officials from reacting with anger over the bombing.
Azerbaijan’s president has vowed to strike back against Armenia saying he will “take revenge on the battlefield."
The two sides have been at odds over the Azerbaijani claimed-Armenian controlled region of Nagorno-Karabakh, for close to a month. A ceasefire between both warring parties was brokered a week ago but it wasn’t long until the agreement fail and fighting resumed.
Azerbaijan's defence minister claims his troops have broken through Armenia’s defence system in Nagorno-Karabakh and are in route to the heart of the region.
Today’s attack is the second of its kind in the region. Only last week a missile struck a residential part of the city, killing 10 civilians and leaving many homeless.
