The Supreme Court voted 5-4, with newly appointed Justice Amy Coney Barrett voting in the majority, to block New York from enforcing new restrictions to add new limits on church and synagogues.
New York state will now have to scrap its plan to limit congregations from only sitting ten people.
The ruling is a win for the Roman Catholic Church and Orthodox Jewish synagogue that sued the government over the policy.
