Violent start to a Saturday morning in Toronto

Police responded to two separate stabbing incidents and a shooting early Saturday morning.

Police first received a call, at 12:20 a.m, of a stabbing at Lansdowne subway station. Police found a man suffering from one stab wound. The suspect (s) was (were) nowhere to be seen. The victim was transported to hospital in serious condition. The victim's name nor current state of health has been made public.


An hour after responding to the first stabbing, police were called to Prince Arthur Avenue and St. George Street after a fight between a group of men turned violent. One man, involved in the altercation, was stabbed twice and received a large cut to his head. He was transported to hospital in serious condition.


Two other men were transported to hospital for blunt force trauma to the head after being struck by an object.


Meanwhile, another set of officers were responding to calls of a shooting in Thorncliffe Pk near Overlea Blvd. Two people, a man and a woman, were shot while seated in their parked vehicle at a parking lot.


No word yet from police if the incident was targeted. The pair were transported to hospital with serious injuries. The suspect (s) are still at large. Police are asking for any information that might assist them in their investigation.
