Zesco employee arrested for stabbing his wife in the neck

A 37-year-old man is facing charges of first-degree murder for stabbing and killing his wife following a “domestic dispute.”

37-year-old as Paul Mayembe accused of killing his wife

Police have identified the 37-year-old as Paul Mayembe of Maamba, Southern Province. The attack took place early this morning at approximately 1 a.m in Maamba New Township. Police arrested the Zesco worker at the scene of the crime. First responders found the deceased 36-year-old woman in a pool of blood lying face-up on a bed. Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said the women was found with a deep cut on the left side of her neck. The body has been taken to Maamba Hospital for a postmortem.
